Research Assistant position in the Luo Lab
Biodiversity Research Center, Academia Sinica
Academia Sinica is Taiwan’s premier academic institution, comprising 24 research institutes and 7 research centers dedicated to research excellence. The Biodiversity Research Center (BRC), one of its leading institutes, aims to advance fundamental science and conservation biology, enhancing understanding and awareness of biodiversity. The Center is internationally recognized for its excellence in biodiversity research and education. Joining the BRC means becoming part of a team of renowned scientists and innovative leaders in ecology and evolutionary biology. English is the primary working language at Academia Sinica.
The recently established Symbiosis Genomics & Evolution Lab is housed in the Interdisciplinary Building on the Academia Sinica main campus. The lab is part of the BRC, which hosts its own NGS High Throughput Genomics Core, equipped with major sequencing platforms, including Illumina NextSeq 2000, PacBio Sequel IIe, and Oxford Nanopore PromethION 2. Researchers also have access to state-of-the-art confocal and electron microscopes within the same building or nearby institutes. The BRC is home to the Biodiversity Ph.D. program under the Taiwan International Graduate Program (TIGP), which attracts graduate students from around the world, fostering a vibrant and diverse research community.
